It looks like 2012 is going to be a BIG year for The Bootleg Sixties ! as always starring the fabulous Overtures . Not only has a third successive UK theatre tour been booked for next Spring, the show may well be also be making it·s seasonal debut of “The Bootleg Sixties Christmas Special ” in late November and early December, and with some other high-profile appearances still in the pipeline, it·s really not hard to see why all of us in The Bootleg Sixties camp are so looking forward to the next twelve months. There·s no doubt now that the show has already established itself as a favourite fixture on the UK·s theatre circuit....even as the recesssion bit deeper into the pockets of concertgoers everywhere the Bootleg Sixties continued to grow....so all the signs for the future of the show are excellent. The 2012 dates will see yet more changes to the song repertoire and the show itself, as we want to make sure that·s there·s always something a bit different for the loyal fans who come to see us on each tour. As anyone who caught us on our headlining show at the Liverpool Philarmonic in August of last year will confirm, sometimes these changes can be quite radical ! Having been asked by the promoters of the Beatles Festival to devise a special version of the show which celebrated the music of artistes who had appeared at The Cavern, we shocked and delighted the sell-out crowd by including songs from Oasis, Adele, Status Quo and even Queen...complete with an appearance by " Freddie Mercury " ! We·ll be back on more familiar ground with the 2012 dates, but there·ll still be plenty to get excited about....as we always say, the beat goes on !!
